Turkish Tezhip Art may be described as the art of decoration of books by using gold.

Tezhip is not meaning only of works  made with gold gilding. Paints are also being used for. Additionally, it describes the decoration works not only of books but calligraphic plates, ferman and woodden or leather objetcs by using traditional motifs.

Tezhip (Gilding) artists are being called Muzehhib (Male) or Muzehhibe (Female).
